Synergy Client Solutions Celebrates Bristol Independents Day

Synergy Client Solutions raises a glass to independent businesses in Bristol as a day is set aside to celebrate them.

Yesterday might have been Independence Day in America but Bristol held its own ‘Independents Day’ to celebrate local businesses. Shops, cafes, restaurants and market stalls were amongst those who showed off their individuality yesterday. Tuesday saw traders from Old Market Quarter and Stapleton Road and members of the Bristol Independents campaign gather in Stapleton Road to promote the work being done by the local business community.

The main event took play on July 4th with cabinet members raising a special Bristol Independent flag from the Council House, College Green. Many traders and members of the local community attended. This was followed by a huge number of special events in shops and restaurants around the city. Synergy Client Solutions was also delighted to hear that the first 50 shoppers at 50 different independents businesses received a free special bag as a thank you for shopping local.

Synergy Client Solutions an independent customer acquisitions and marketing firm is very proud of the fact that Bristol independent businesses have managed to shine despite the economic downturn. Managing director of Synergy Client Solutions, Benjamin Jeanes was delighted that the event took place. He said, “We’re incredibly proud of our city and the fact that local businesses are supported by the local community and that they’re thriving. This was a great opportunity to celebrate independent shops and businesses but also for them to showcase what they had to offer.”

Synergy Client Solutions fully recognises the importance of people supporting their local businesses. Mr Jeanes said, “There is no better way to help your local community than to shop local. Using local services, shops and restaurants are a great way to get fantastic unique service and more attention to detail than some of these huge companies provide. Particularly where food in concerned these local businesses try to source their produce locally thus sporting local famers as well. Bristol has so much to offer, why not try something different?”

Synergy Client Solutions Asks: Is it Worth Your Time?

Have you ever found yourself being lumbered with a huge number of tasks and you don’t know which one to devote your time to? The managing director at Synergy Client Solutions definitely has. Here is his advice on what to prioritise.

It’s Monday morning and your inbox is full of requests for your expertise. There simply isn’t enough time to do it all but how do you decided what to take on, and what to decline? Benjamin Jeanes, managing director of Synergy Client Solutions believes that there is a clear way to work out what is worth your time and effort.

Mr. Jeanes says, “When you get to a more senior level in a company there is naturally going to be a greater demand on your time. Trying to take on too much is actually something that can damage your reputation as you’re not likely to devote your whole attention and do it as well as you can. I approach the problem by asking myself three questions.”

1. Am I the right person for the job?
You may well be capable of doing the job but is there someone who actually has greater expertise in the area than you? When you’re a team leader or a director you might be the obvious person that people approach but there might be someone else better equipped and with more time than you.

2. Do I have enough information?
At Synergy Client Solutions I sometimes find people approach me with a question and they simply don’t provide me with enough background information to answer it well. I can give a superficial answer, or a broad answer but to go into more detail I’m going to have to ask them or others for more information or do more research myself. Be firm with people, if they want your advice they need to provide you with all of the tools to answer it in the most informed way you can. Insist on this before you even start to tackle a question.

3. Is this the right time?
We all have a certain part of us that wants to get thing ticked off on the checklist. This question is particularly important to ask yourself when it’s a small task or request. Is it distracting you from a more complicated or time–consuming piece of work. Is it going to put something else under unnecessary time pressure. For example at Synergy Client Solutions we might be just about to start a new campaign and be at the busiest part of training and preparation. Then is not the time to take on something else. Politely find out if the request can wait and find a time that is right.

If the answers to these three questions is no then you shouldn’t take on the task. Find the right person, insist all the right information, and don’t let it get in the way of the things you’re already doing.

Synergy Client Solutions Impressed at Value of Britain’s Properties

Synergy Client Solutions was impressed to learn that Britain’s properties are worth a total of £5 trillion, with the South West being the third most valuable region.

Property in Britain has always been a valuable investment particularly in the south of England. A report by the website PrimeLocation.com has calculated the property wealth of the UK’s counties and regions. Bristol-based Synergy Client Solutions was thrilled to learn that as a region the south west was the third wealthiest with total property valued at £488.3 billion.

Synergy Client Solutions, a customer acquisitions company, was unsurprised to learn that there was a clear North-South divide. The website also counted the property wealth per head of the UK’s counties and the top ten spots were exclusively taken up by those in the South of England.

When the total property wealth for the UK’s regions was calculated the figures were staggering.

1. South East (£1.6 trillion)
2. London (£1.0 trillion)
3. South West (£488.3 billion)
4. East (£482.5 billion)
5. West Midlands (£367 billion)
6. East Midlands (£336.1 billion)
7. Scotland (£322.1 billion)
8. Yorkshire & Humberside (£300 billion)
9. North West (£253.9 billion)
10. Wales (£223.3 billion)
11. North East (£162.9 billion)

A representative of Synergy Client Solutions believes that the figures are encouraging. “At Synergy Client Solutions we’re relieved to see that property is still such a strong market. Of course we’re particularly delighted that our home region where we're based in Bristol is doing so well but generally around the country things are looking positive.

As a company that specialises in utility-funded home insulation sales we’re aware of the quality of homes in our region so it’s no surprise that the value of property is going up and up. Property has always been a solid investment in the UK and we hope that it will continue to be a great financial security to people around the country.”

Synergy Client Solutions Confident Bristol Will be Crowned Green Capital

With just 8 days left before Bristol finds out if they have been named the Green Capital of Europe in 2014, Synergy Client Solutions expresses their confidence in the bid.

Synergy Client Solutions is pretty proud of their home city of Bristol. The direct sales company specialises in utility-funded insulation schemes in and around Bristol so it comes as no surprise to them that it is considered one of the Greenest cities around. The city’s bid took a further boost in recent days when deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, offered his support to Bristol. Mr Clegg said that winning the award would be a ‘fitting tribute’ to all of the hard work that has been put into the environment and sustainability in Bristol in recent years.

Bristol has been shortlisted for the European Green Capital award once before back in 2010 when they narrowly lost out to Stockholm. This time round there are just three cities in the running, Bristol, Frankfurt and Copenhagen, though 19 cities put themselves forward.

The managing director of Synergy Client Solutions, Benjamin Jeanes, feels that Bristol is in with a fantastic chance. “You only have to live or work in Bristol to see all the effprt that has been put into sustainability in the area. I travel around the country often and nowhere do I see the mass-effort and projects that we see in our city. I’m certain that the Bristol bid has a great chance of winning this year. There is some stiff competition from some incredible cities but at Synergy Client Solutions we’re quietly confident.”

The team fronting the bid will do their final presentation in Brussels next Friday, 8th June. Synergy Client Solutions will be keeping their fingers crossed that Bristol will be the winner this time round.

Synergy Client Solutions Delighted to Learn that UK Unemployment is Falling

Synergy Client Solutions was relieved to see that UK unemployment fell by 45,000 last month.

According to the Office of National Statistics (ONS), unemployment has fallen for the second month in a row. The figures have fallen to 2.6m, the lowest it’s been since last summer. The average unemployment rate for Europe is firmly at 10.2% but it seems that the UK is heading in the right direction as the national figures have fallen to 8.2%. In addition, the number of people claiming jobseeker's allowance fell for the second month in a row to 1.59m - a large drop of 13,700. So why have figures fallen so dramatically? It seems that the fall in jobless figures is down to a rise in the number of people taking on part-time work. Synergy Client Solutions were intrigued to learn that now eight million are now working in a part-time job – smashing the previous record, held since 1992.

A number of measures have been put in place to try and combat the rising unemployment. Various government and non-government organisations have been tackling the issue and it seems that progress is finally being made. Employment minister Chris Grayling called the figures, “A welcome step in the right direction” and went on to say, “For a number of months now, employment has been growing and this is starting to feed through into improving unemployment figures.”

Benjamin Jeanes, managing director of Synergy Client Solutions was delighted to hear of the new figures. “Unemployment in the UK has been a constant battle and its great when we see improvements like this. However, we must continue to do everything to ensure the numbers keep falling. The Government have worked hard to tackle youth unemployment and now they are moving to tackle unemployment on a larger scale. These recent published figures show a positive trend towards the ultimate goal and it is great we are heading in the right direction.”

These figures are in stark contrast to what is going on in much of the rest of Europe. Spain for example has hit shocking unemployment levels of 24.1% Synergy Client Solutions is hopeful that the trend will spread throughout Europe and help the European economy as a whole to improve.

The Avengers film, directed by Joss Whedon, is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team. It features an ensemble cast that includes many renowned characters like The Hulk and Ironman.  The movie centers on Nick Fury, a director of a peacekeeping organization ‘S.H.I.E.L.D’ who battle to form a team that must prevent Loki, from enslaving the human race. After the success of the film Iron Man in 2008, it was announced by Marvel that they would release The Avengers in 2012. The film buffs at Synergy Client Solutions have been eagerly anticipating its release.

The film, released only a week ago in the UK, has already taken a whopping £396 million worldwide nabbing the biggest opening weekend of all time. The Avengers smashed the previously held record set in July 2011 by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2, by taking £123 million. The Avengers failed to beat the final Harry Potter's first day takings record of £56 million but surpassed it as a weekend as a whole.

Synergy Client Solutions, a customer acquisitions company based in Bristol, has many clients in the film industry, and so is always in the loop when it comes to new releases. Synergy Client Solutions Delighted Bristol Making its Mark on Sunday Times Rich List

Yesterday the Sunday Times released its annual rich list and Synergy Client Solutions was impressed to see some Bristol businessmen and women on the list.

The annual Sunday Times Rich List was released on Sunday and it didn’t fail to disappoint. Despite the news of a double dip recession, the 1,000 wealthiest people in Britain are richer than ever with a combined total wealth of £414 billion, up 4.7 per cent from last year. Synergy Client solutions looks at some of the big names making the list.

The names at  the top of the list were largely unchanged from last year with Lakshmi Mittal and his family keeping the top spot despite losing almost £5 billion on his fortune over the last year. Yate-born J.K Rowling, of Harry Potter fame, saw her fortune increase by £30 million to £560 million which put her in 148th place. Successful businessman and Bath Rugby chairman Bruce Craig, who was educated in Brislington, came in at 267th place with a £300 million fortune from his pharmaceutical logistics company.

Synergy Client Solutions was shocked and impressed last year when Peter Hargreaves became Bristol’s first billionaire with a personal fortune of £1.02 billion. However, the stockbroker saw his wealth fall by £190 million over the last twelve months to £830 million. He is the 90th richest person in the UK and the third richest in the south west. The richest person in the south west is Sir James Dyson, the Wiltshire inventor, who has a fortune of £2.6 billion.

Synergy Client Solutions managing director Benjamin Jeanes feels that the news is incredibly encouraging for the region. “Bristol has been growing itself into one of the biggest, most innovative business regions outside of London over the past decade or so. To be producing such a fantastic crop of businessmen and women is incredible news and something to be very proud of. The fact that we have such variety in Bristol is also very impressive.

Synergy Client Solutions Celebrates the Olivier Awards 2012

Synergy Client Solutions celebrates a year of theatre with the Olivier Awards 2012.

With the film awards season over a couple of months ago, the film and theatre fanatics at Synergy Client Solutions were getting anxious for their next fix of glitz and glamour. The Olivier Awards were a perfect way to get back into the swing of things.

The Olivier, or Lawrence Olivier Awards to give them their full title, were created in 1976. The first ceremony had just 12 awards, a number which has grown over the years as the awards have become more and more prominent. Originally called the Society of West End Theatre Awards, it wasn’t until 1984 that Lawrence Olivier allowed his name to be associated with the awards in celebration of his contribution to London theatre.

Synergy Client Solutions specialises in customer acquisitions and campaign management for the entertainment industry so they naturally keep up to date with all of the events going on in the theatre and film world. The awards were record breakers this year with Matilda The Musical, based on Roald Dahl’s best-selling children’s book, winning an incredible 7 awards including Best Actress in a Musical which was presented jointly to the four young actresses who share the role of Matilda.

Synergy Client Solutions can reveal that the other main winners were.

Ruth Wilson – Best Actress

Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller – Best Actor

Matthew Warchus, Matilda – Best Director

Matilda – Best New Musical

Les Misérables – BBC Radio 2 Olivier Audience Award.

Benjamin Jeanes, managing director of Synergy Client Solutions said of the event,  “People often get swept up in the huge televised American film awards and don’t give enough credit to the theatre world. At Synergy Client Solutions we believe that theatre plays a huge role in Britain’s entertainment history and we’re delighted that the Olivier Awards allow that culture to be celebrated.”

Synergy Client Solutions Impressed by Government £1 billion CCS Competition

Today the government launched a £1 billion competition to be awarded to the first power plant to be able to capture and store carbon (CCS). Synergy Client Solutions looks at why the competition is so important.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) announced today that the selected project, or projects, could sign front-end engineering and design contracts with the government towards the end of this year and then look to start operating the new plants from 2016 to 2020. Synergy Client Solutions, a customer acquisitions company, believes that this competition could boost investment in the UK and from abroad.

The DECC believe that the CCS industry could contribute as much as £6.5 billion a year to the economy through exporting knowledge on the technology and also products. They also anticipate the industry creating a hundred thousand jobs. Synergy Client Solutions understands that the reason why the competition has been set up is because there has been very little investment or knowledge gained in the technology globally and the government wants the UK to be at the frontline of a potential game-changer.

To qualify for the funding the CSS projects must have a power plant and carbon capture on UK soil and then a storage facility offshore. Ben Jeanes, managing director of Synergy Client Solutions believes that this is a worthwhile endeavour. “To be at the forefront of such cutting edge technology, in such a sought after field, would be huge for the UK. It would be a real boost to the economy as well as moving forwards to find ways to combat global warming.”

Companies face a July 3rd deadline for submitting their applications.

Synergy Client Solutions Impressed as The Hunger Games sets US Box Office Record

The latest film phenomenon, The Hunger Games has opened in the USA smashing previous records. Synergy Client Solutions, a customer acquisitions company specialising in the entertainment industry takes a look at the record breaking film.

The Hunger Games took £97m in the US box office over its opening weekend. The figures make it the highest sales ever for a film that is not a sequel and the third best opening of all time. The two films that still rank above it are the last film in the Harry Potter franchise which took £106.6m and The Dark Knight at £99m.

The film is based on Suzanne Collins’ novel and follows teenager Katniss Everdeen as she fights for her life in a survivor takes all television show. It stars Jennifer Lawrence. The film has been compared to the vampire series Twilight thought these figures devour theirs. The best opening weekend was for the second film New Moon which pulled in £88.8m.

Synergy Client Solutions specialises in outsource marketing for the entertainment industry and so keeps a close eye on the latest releases which will be big for their clients. They feel that the Hunger Games could be the next big film franchise. “Appealing to a teenage market, whilst still having something that will appeal to adults, is the making of a film franchise. Unlike Twilight, The Hunger Games appeals to both males and females and the slightly edgy strain of anti-government sentiment is sure to capture a wide audience.”

The success of this first film is sure to make it a big success, according to industry analyst Paul Degerabedian who believes that it marks the “birth of a franchise.” Managing Director of Synergy Client Solutions Benjamin Jeanes believes that there is a reason for the success. “Film franchises that come from books start out on a strong footing. They already have a built-in fan base who want to see what the film is like. They can attract big name actors, big investors and big studios to make the film.” With two more books in the series, The Hunger Games is sure to be a growing success.

Synergy Client Solutions provides expert sales and management solutions to the entertainment industry.

Synergy Client Solutions Watches Inflation Fall to 15 Month Low

UK inflation has fallen to a 15 month low of 3.4% through February, the fall is largely attributed to lower gas and electricity bills. Synergy Client Solutions examines what this means for Britain.

The statistics released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) today have shown that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation has fallen by 0.2% since January. The rating has not been this low since November 2010. The report also suggested that huge sales and discounts among retailers have affected the inflation rate.

Synergy Client Solutions had read in the last couple of days that analysts were expecting the fall to have been slightly greater. An average taken on the forecasts of 36 economists, had predicted that inflation would fall to as low as 3.3% but high alcohol prices, as part of a government drive to curb binge-drinking, had played a factor in stopping the rate fall even further. The prices of spirits rose 2.6 percent in February, this compared to a decline of 5.8 percent in the same period last year is significant. Vegetable and soft drinks prices rose by 3.3 percent and 4.3 percent respectively.

Managing Director Benjamin Jeanes believes that whilst this is a step in the right direction he still has concerns. “Unfortunately we still see inflation higher than wage growth meaning that people are still being squeezed financially. At Synergy Client Solutions we will be interested to see what George Osborne reveals in his annual budget tomorrow where he has promised to help low-income individuals through tax changes.”

Mervyn King, the Governor of the Bank of England has predicted that inflation will slow throughout the rest of the year but some analysts believe that it will stick harder than Mr. King would like.

Mr. Jeanes concludes, “Savers are always hardest hit by inflation rises so things appear to be heading in the right direction for them. Energy bills have been rising to outrageous heights recently, leaving the hardest-up heading towards fuel poverty. We’re relieved that those are gradually falling, and will continue to do so as we head into the summer months. This will be a long road to recovery for the UK and at Synergy Client Solutions we will be evaluating Mr. Osborne’s budget carefully.”

Synergy Client Solutions Hopeful that Bristol Will Avoid Hosepipe Ban

Areas of southern England are to be hit with a hosepipe ban as water companies put measures in place to control drought conditions.

Synergy Client Solutions, a customer acquisitions company based in Bristol City Centre read yesterday that emergency measures are in place throughout the South and South East of England. Seven firms, Southern Water, South East Water, Thames Water, Anglian Water, Sutton and East Surrey, Veolia Central and Veolia South East are all to put restrictions in place.

Synergy Client Solutions has heard from the Environmental Agency that although only the South East is effected at the moment, if this spring continues to be warm and dry, as expected, the ban could extend into East Yorkshire and the Hampshire-Wiltshire border.

Managing director of Synergy Client Solutions Benjamin Jeanes is concerned about the wider-reaching consequences. “Quite aside from the frustration this will cause keen gardeners, the repercussions could really hit the farming industries. The prices of vegetables have gone up when hosepipe bans have been enforced before. The price of staple foods has risen considerably over the past few years and this could push them even higher.”

There had been some concern that the Olympics would also be affected but Synergy Client Solutions understands that measures have been put in place to ensure that the Olympic Park and other venues receive enough water from sustainable sources.

At this stage Bristol, where Synergy Client Solutions have their headquarters, does not appear to be affected. However, it could well be on the list if rain levels don’t increase in the next month or so.

Synergy Client Solutions Backs FSB in Hunt for Small Business Representation in Cabinet.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has called for a separate Government body, which is dedicated to protecting the interests of small businesses, to have a seat in the Cabinet. Synergy Client Solutions looks at the rationale behind the request.

In its Budget submission to the Chancellor, the FSB has suggested that an agency be created that is modeled on the Small Business Administration (SBA) in the USA. Although a number of government departments deal will small business policy there isn’t a single department that focuses specifically on the needs of small businesses and the FSB believes that this is causing them to fall down the list of government priorities.

Synergy Client Solutions, a customer acquisitions company based in Bristol, is all too aware of the problems faced by small businesses. Director of the company, Benjamin Jeanes said of the proposal, “This will be very welcome amongst small businesses throughout the UK. I think the government recognises the importance of small businesses but unfortunately because of lack of representation they don’t always stay at the forefront of policy. The reality is however that there are 4.5 million small businesses in the UK and they need to be given a more prominent seat within government.”

The FSB believes that a group modeled on the US SBA would be incredibly beneficial and would help them improve small business finance particularly credit easing and improving procurement opportunities for small firms. They also believe that it would help provide quick and effective disaster assistance for small businesses when they are hit by exceptional circumstances outside of their control, like the summer riots of 2011. The SBA in America has been in existence since 1953 and has a seat in the Cabinet.

Synergy Client Solutions is fully behind John Walker, the national chairman of the FSB who recently said, “Through implementing a Small Business Administration, it would allow the government to quickly implement policies aimed at helping small businesses.”

Mr. Jeanes believes that much more must be done to help small businesses. “The government has set a 25 per cent improvement target in helping provide procurement opportunities to small firms but they’re failing to really put the measures in place the help the businesses to do this. Perhaps the world ‘small’ is holding the businesses back. They’re definitely not small in number and if an organised lobbying committee could be put in place, we’re confident at Synergy Client Solutions that we would see an improvement.”

Synergy Client Solutions Tries to Turn Stress into an Asset

Stress is an unavoidable part of life, be it at home or work-related. Synergy Client Solutions looks at how you can turn stress into an asset.

All the advice that we ever hear is that stress is bad for you: it damages health, puts relationships under strain and affects your performance. Whilst there is no doubt that these risks are real and in some cases harmful, research by Yale scientist Alia Crum has shown that work strain, when managed correctly can actually have a positive impact on productivity and performance. Bristol-based Synergy Client Solutions takes a look at the advice.

Synergy Client Solutions were intrigued to read about Shawn Achor, an expert in positive psychology, who says “Stress is an inevitable part of work and life, but the effect of stress upon us is far from inevitable.” He continues, “Stress can be good or bad depending on how you use it.”

Firstly one must recognise worry for what it is: a feeling. The heightened reaction, heart racing, tension in the body, is an indicator of how much you care about the task you are about to do. Synergy Client Solutions understands that how much stress you feel is directly correlated to the importance of the activity. Essentially, if it didn’t matter, you wouldn’t worry! Justin Menkes author of ‘Better Under Pressure: How Great Leaders Bring Out the Best in Themselves and Others’ says that we must recognise that worry is simply an indicator rather than a symptom of dysfunction or a cause for panic.

Next it is important to focus on what you can control. Divide your worries up into that which you can and can’t control. Draw yourself a diagram if necessary. We all know that we spend far too much time worrying about the things that we simply cannot change. The team at Synergy Client Solutions have started trying to train themselves to let go of those things and only focus on that which they can impact.

Make sure that you have a network of support that you can go to. We often tell people half of the problem because we don’t want to freak them out as well. Find someone who the outcome of your problem doesn’t affect either way. They will be able to give you a more balanced response or simply allow you to spill your problems to them.

Finally it’s important to get some stress-handling experience. If you’re not used to stress, you’ll panic when you experience it. Don’t wait for a terrible situation to try out these techniques. Managing director of Synergy Client Solutions, Ben Jeanes, suggests, “If you find public speaking stressful take every opportunity to speak in front of your peers and colleagues even if it’s just to give the morning announcements.” Managing your stress is clearly the key to your success.

Synergy Client Solutions is a customer acquisitions company based in the South-West. We offer our clients a tailor-made service from campaign conception to client acquistion.

Synergy Client Solutions Looks at the Eco-Friendly Inventions You Probably Didn’t Know About.

Everyone is trying to do their bit for the environment and Synergy Client Solutions is no different. So they’ve hunted down a few of the best eco-friendly inventions to leave you feeling a little smug by the end of your work-day.

Bristol is famous for its hills so it may come as a surprise that cycling is a popular pastime and mode of transport in the city where Synergy Client Solutions is based. Many of their associates make their way around by bike but are often met with the frustrating problem of flat phone batteries. Now if you’re in a car, quickly plug it into the cigarette lighter and hey presto! But when you’re trying to be healthy and green it becomes a little harder. Or so you thought…there is now an iPhone 4 bicycle charger kit which works by a dynamo power generator taking its energy from the rotations of the bikes wheels. You can plug the cable into your phone and chuck it into your bag. By the time you get to work the battery bar will be full.

For those of you live a little too far away to cycle fear not, very soon you can still do your bit whilst driving your car. Ford has started developing mushroom-based compostable car parts, which can be used to replace bumpers, dashboards, side doors and other components without compromising safety. Once buried, the product decomposes within about a month. An associate of Synergy Client Solutions jokes “It brings a new meaning to Toadstool driving in Mario Kart!”

Right, Synergy Client Solutions has done their bit for getting to and from work but what about when you’re at home? The final invention is even weirder than mushroom cars! The smog-eating roof tile. The tile is designed to reduce harmful emissions. According to the company that makes the tiles, within one year, 2000 square feet of the tile can destroy the amount of NOx gases produced from a car driving 10, 400 miles. That could cancel out your travel to work as well.

Synergy Client Solutions’ mind is suitably blown! Make 2012 your year for making a difference. You can keep up to date with more innovative ideas by following our blog. http://synergyclientsolutions.blogspot.com.
