Synergy Client Solutions Confident Bristol Will be Crowned Green Capital

With just 8 days left before Bristol finds out if they have been named the Green Capital of Europe in 2014, Synergy Client Solutions expresses their confidence in the bid.

Synergy Client Solutions is pretty proud of their home city of Bristol. The direct sales company specialises in utility-funded insulation schemes in and around Bristol so it comes as no surprise to them that it is considered one of the Greenest cities around. The city’s bid took a further boost in recent days when deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, offered his support to Bristol. Mr Clegg said that winning the award would be a ‘fitting tribute’ to all of the hard work that has been put into the environment and sustainability in Bristol in recent years.

Bristol has been shortlisted for the European Green Capital award once before back in 2010 when they narrowly lost out to Stockholm. This time round there are just three cities in the running, Bristol, Frankfurt and Copenhagen, though 19 cities put themselves forward.

The managing director of Synergy Client Solutions, Benjamin Jeanes, feels that Bristol is in with a fantastic chance. “You only have to live or work in Bristol to see all the effprt that has been put into sustainability in the area. I travel around the country often and nowhere do I see the mass-effort and projects that we see in our city. I’m certain that the Bristol bid has a great chance of winning this year. There is some stiff competition from some incredible cities but at Synergy Client Solutions we’re quietly confident.”

The team fronting the bid will do their final presentation in Brussels next Friday, 8th June. Synergy Client Solutions will be keeping their fingers crossed that Bristol will be the winner this time round.

Synergy Client Solutions Delighted Bristol Making its Mark on Sunday Times Rich List

Yesterday the Sunday Times released its annual rich list and Synergy Client Solutions was impressed to see some Bristol businessmen and women on the list.

The annual Sunday Times Rich List was released on Sunday and it didn’t fail to disappoint. Despite the news of a double dip recession, the 1,000 wealthiest people in Britain are richer than ever with a combined total wealth of £414 billion, up 4.7 per cent from last year. Synergy Client solutions looks at some of the big names making the list.

The names at  the top of the list were largely unchanged from last year with Lakshmi Mittal and his family keeping the top spot despite losing almost £5 billion on his fortune over the last year. Yate-born J.K Rowling, of Harry Potter fame, saw her fortune increase by £30 million to £560 million which put her in 148th place. Successful businessman and Bath Rugby chairman Bruce Craig, who was educated in Brislington, came in at 267th place with a £300 million fortune from his pharmaceutical logistics company.

Synergy Client Solutions was shocked and impressed last year when Peter Hargreaves became Bristol’s first billionaire with a personal fortune of £1.02 billion. However, the stockbroker saw his wealth fall by £190 million over the last twelve months to £830 million. He is the 90th richest person in the UK and the third richest in the south west. The richest person in the south west is Sir James Dyson, the Wiltshire inventor, who has a fortune of £2.6 billion.

Synergy Client Solutions managing director Benjamin Jeanes feels that the news is incredibly encouraging for the region. “Bristol has been growing itself into one of the biggest, most innovative business regions outside of London over the past decade or so. To be producing such a fantastic crop of businessmen and women is incredible news and something to be very proud of. The fact that we have such variety in Bristol is also very impressive.

Synergy Client Solutions celebrates a year of theatre with the Olivier Awards 2012.

With the film awards season over a couple of months ago, the film and theatre fanatics at Synergy Client Solutions were getting anxious for their next fix of glitz and glamour. The Olivier Awards were a perfect way to get back into the swing of things.

The Olivier, or Lawrence Olivier Awards to give them their full title, were created in 1976. The first ceremony had just 12 awards, a number which has grown over the years as the awards have become more and more prominent. Originally called the Society of West End Theatre Awards, it wasn’t until 1984 that Lawrence Olivier allowed his name to be associated with the awards in celebration of his contribution to London theatre.

Synergy Client Solutions specialises in customer acquisitions and campaign management for the entertainment industry so they naturally keep up to date with all of the events going on in the theatre and film world. The awards were record breakers this year with Matilda The Musical, based on Roald Dahl’s best-selling children’s book, winning an incredible 7 awards including Best Actress in a Musical which was presented jointly to the four young actresses who share the role of Matilda.

Synergy Client Solutions can reveal that the other main winners were.

Matilda – Best New Musical

Les Misérables – BBC Radio 2 Olivier Audience Award.

At Synergy Client Solutions we believe that theatre plays a huge role in Britain’s entertainment history and we’re delighted that the Olivier Awards allow that culture to be celebrated.”

Synergy Client Solutions Impressed as The Hunger Games sets US Box Office Record

The latest film phenomenon, The Hunger Games has opened in the USA smashing previous records. Synergy Client Solutions, a customer acquisitions company specialising in the entertainment industry takes a look at the record breaking film.

The Hunger Games took £97m in the US box office over its opening weekend. The figures make it the highest sales ever for a film that is not a sequel and the third best opening of all time. The two films that still rank above it are the last film in the Harry Potter franchise which took £106.6m and The Dark Knight at £99m.

The film is based on Suzanne Collins’ novel and follows teenager Katniss Everdeen as she fights for her life in a survivor takes all television show. It stars Jennifer Lawrence. The film has been compared to the vampire series Twilight thought these figures devour theirs. The best opening weekend was for the second film New Moon which pulled in £88.8m.

Synergy Client Solutions specialises in outsource marketing for the entertainment industry and so keeps a close eye on the latest releases which will be big for their clients. They feel that the Hunger Games could be the next big film franchise. “Appealing to a teenage market, whilst still having something that will appeal to adults, is the making of a film franchise. Unlike Twilight, The Hunger Games appeals to both males and females and the slightly edgy strain of anti-government sentiment is sure to capture a wide audience.”

The success of this first film is sure to make it a big success, according to industry analyst Paul Degerabedian who believes that it marks the “birth of a franchise.” Managing Director of Synergy Client Solutions Benjamin Jeanes believes that there is a reason for the success. “Film franchises that come from books start out on a strong footing. They already have a built-in fan base who want to see what the film is like. They can attract big name actors, big investors and big studios to make the film.” With two more books in the series, The Hunger Games is sure to be a growing success.

Synergy Client Solutions Backs FSB in Hunt for Small Business Representation in Cabinet.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has called for a separate Government body, which is dedicated to protecting the interests of small businesses, to have a seat in the Cabinet. Synergy Client Solutions looks at the rationale behind the request.

In its Budget submission to the Chancellor, the FSB has suggested that an agency be created that is modeled on the Small Business Administration (SBA) in the USA. Although a number of government departments deal will small business policy there isn’t a single department that focuses specifically on the needs of small businesses and the FSB believes that this is causing them to fall down the list of government priorities.

Synergy Client Solutions, a customer acquisitions company based in Bristol, is all too aware of the problems faced by small businesses. Director of the company, Benjamin Jeanes said of the proposal, “This will be very welcome amongst small businesses throughout the UK. I think the government recognises the importance of small businesses but unfortunately because of lack of representation they don’t always stay at the forefront of policy. The reality is however that there are 4.5 million small businesses in the UK and they need to be given a more prominent seat within government.”

The FSB believes that a group modeled on the US SBA would be incredibly beneficial and would help them improve small business finance particularly credit easing and improving procurement opportunities for small firms. They also believe that it would help provide quick and effective disaster assistance for small businesses when they are hit by exceptional circumstances outside of their control, like the summer riots of 2011. The SBA in America has been in existence since 1953 and has a seat in the Cabinet.

Synergy Client Solutions is fully behind John Walker, the national chairman of the FSB who recently said, “Through implementing a Small Business Administration, it would allow the government to quickly implement policies aimed at helping small businesses.”

Mr. Jeanes believes that much more must be done to help small businesses. “The government has set a 25 per cent improvement target in helping provide procurement opportunities to small firms but they’re failing to really put the measures in place the help the businesses to do this. Perhaps the world ‘small’ is holding the businesses back. They’re definitely not small in number and if an organised lobbying committee could be put in place, we’re confident at Synergy Client Solutions that we would see an improvement.”

Synergy Client Solutions Tries to Turn Stress into an Asset

Stress is an unavoidable part of life, be it at home or work-related. Synergy Client Solutions looks at how you can turn stress into an asset.

All the advice that we ever hear is that stress is bad for you: it damages health, puts relationships under strain and affects your performance. Whilst there is no doubt that these risks are real and in some cases harmful, research by Yale scientist Alia Crum has shown that work strain, when managed correctly can actually have a positive impact on productivity and performance. Bristol-based Synergy Client Solutions takes a look at the advice.

Synergy Client Solutions were intrigued to read about Shawn Achor, an expert in positive psychology, who says “Stress is an inevitable part of work and life, but the effect of stress upon us is far from inevitable.” He continues, “Stress can be good or bad depending on how you use it.”

Firstly one must recognise worry for what it is: a feeling. The heightened reaction, heart racing, tension in the body, is an indicator of how much you care about the task you are about to do. Synergy Client Solutions understands that how much stress you feel is directly correlated to the importance of the activity. Essentially, if it didn’t matter, you wouldn’t worry! Justin Menkes author of ‘Better Under Pressure: How Great Leaders Bring Out the Best in Themselves and Others’ says that we must recognise that worry is simply an indicator rather than a symptom of dysfunction or a cause for panic.

Next it is important to focus on what you can control. Divide your worries up into that which you can and can’t control. Draw yourself a diagram if necessary. We all know that we spend far too much time worrying about the things that we simply cannot change. The team at Synergy Client Solutions have started trying to train themselves to let go of those things and only focus on that which they can impact.

Make sure that you have a network of support that you can go to. We often tell people half of the problem because we don’t want to freak them out as well. Find someone who the outcome of your problem doesn’t affect either way. They will be able to give you a more balanced response or simply allow you to spill your problems to them.

Finally it’s important to get some stress-handling experience. If you’re not used to stress, you’ll panic when you experience it. Don’t wait for a terrible situation to try out these techniques. Managing director of Synergy Client Solutions, Ben Jeanes, suggests, “If you find public speaking stressful take every opportunity to speak in front of your peers and colleagues even if it’s just to give the morning announcements.” Managing your stress is clearly the key to your success.

Will Napster Have Success Launching in the UK? Synergy Client Solutions Dives into its Past.

Napster has announced that they will be re-launching in the UK to grab a share of the market that Spotify dominates. Synergy Client Solutions charts the rise and fall of the music sharing company.

Napster, illegal file-sharing giant of the early 2000s, will me making a come-back in the UK in the form of a legal file-sharing site hoping to take on the likes of Spotify. Bristol based Synergy Client Solutions is excited to find out whether Napster can stay on the right side of the law this time round and whether its business model and famous name will be enough to propel it to success.

Towards the end of 2011 Napster was bought by Rhapsody, a subscription music service, in the USA. However after Napster’s long running legal battles it was decided that Rhapsody would cease to trade under the famous name. Synergy Client Solutions is now aware that the UK and German arms of Napster were not bought at that time. Until now. In a turnaround for the books it appears that Napster will be revived in the UK under its original name.

The president of Rhapsody, Jon Irwin, is delighted by the move and said “The acquisition of Napster and its subscriber base in the UK and Germany gives us an ideal entry into the European market.” He went on to say, “Through the benefit of scale, the strength of our editorial programming, and strategic partnerships, we can now bring the Napster service to even more consumers on a variety of platforms.”

Napster’s rise to the top was part of the dotcom boom of the 1990s. In 1999 19 year-old Shawn Fanning designed software that allowed users to share music files over the internet for free. He teamed with Sean Parker, who was also involved in the start-up of Facebook, to make the service. The manager of Synergy Client Solutions notes, “Many people know about the Sean Parker side of the story because of the film The Social Network but many people haven’t heard of Shawn Fanning.”

Musicians and music executives launched a huge legal battle against Napster when they saw their shop sales dive and the company was shut down in 2001. It has tried to go straight once before in 2003 as a legal downloading site but couldn’t compete with the mighty iTunes.

Bristol has a huge music scene and you often hear people talking about Spotify, a digital streaming service which is entirely legal, has gained huge popularity in the last few years. Synergy Client Solutions believes that Napster will be keen to capitalize on that success whilst using a name that everyone knows and recognizes.

Synergy Client Solutions Looks at the Eco-Friendly Inventions You Probably Didn’t Know About.

Everyone is trying to do their bit for the environment and Synergy Client Solutions is no different. So they’ve hunted down a few of the best eco-friendly inventions to leave you feeling a little smug by the end of your work-day.

Bristol is famous for its hills so it may come as a surprise that cycling is a popular pastime and mode of transport in the city where Synergy Client Solutions is based. Many of their associates make their way around by bike but are often met with the frustrating problem of flat phone batteries. Now if you’re in a car, quickly plug it into the cigarette lighter and hey presto! But when you’re trying to be healthy and green it becomes a little harder. Or so you thought…there is now an iPhone 4 bicycle charger kit which works by a dynamo power generator taking its energy from the rotations of the bikes wheels. You can plug the cable into your phone and chuck it into your bag. By the time you get to work the battery bar will be full.

For those of you live a little too far away to cycle fear not, very soon you can still do your bit whilst driving your car. Ford has started developing mushroom-based compostable car parts, which can be used to replace bumpers, dashboards, side doors and other components without compromising safety. Once buried, the product decomposes within about a month. An associate of Synergy Client Solutions jokes “It brings a new meaning to Toadstool driving in Mario Kart!”

Right, Synergy Client Solutions has done their bit for getting to and from work but what about when you’re at home? The final invention is even weirder than mushroom cars! The smog-eating roof tile. The tile is designed to reduce harmful emissions. According to the company that makes the tiles, within one year, 2000 square feet of the tile can destroy the amount of NOx gases produced from a car driving 10, 400 miles. That could cancel out your travel to work as well.

Synergy Client Solutions’ mind is suitably blown! Make 2012 your year for making a difference. You can keep up to date with more innovative ideas by following our blog. http://synergyclientsolutions.blogspot.com.
