Synergy Client Solutions celebrates a year of theatre with the Olivier Awards 2012.
With the film awards season over a couple of months ago, the film and theatre fanatics at Synergy Client Solutions were getting anxious for their next fix of glitz and glamour. The Olivier Awards were a perfect way to get back into the swing of things.
The Olivier, or Lawrence Olivier Awards to give them their full title, were created in 1976. The first ceremony had just 12 awards, a number which has grown over the years as the awards have become more and more prominent. Originally called the Society of West End Theatre Awards, it wasn’t until 1984 that Lawrence Olivier allowed his name to be associated with the awards in celebration of his contribution to London theatre.
Synergy Client Solutions specialises in customer acquisitions and campaign management for the entertainment industry so they naturally keep up to date with all of the events going on in the theatre and film world. The awards were record breakers this year with Matilda The Musical, based on Roald Dahl’s best-selling children’s book, winning an incredible 7 awards including Best Actress in a Musical which was presented jointly to the four young actresses who share the role of Matilda.
Synergy Client Solutions can reveal that the other main winners were.
Ruth Wilson – Best Actress
Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller – Best Actor
Matthew Warchus, Matilda – Best Director
Matilda – Best New Musical
Les Misérables – BBC Radio 2 Olivier Audience Award.

At Synergy Client Solutions we believe that theatre plays a huge role in Britain’s entertainment history and we’re delighted that the Olivier Awards allow that culture to be celebrated.”
